I sort of think I love this girl

Margaret Jones, the one who wrote the new book Love and Consequences about growing up in South Central, which Michiko went bananas over the other day. She just sounds pretty awesome.

But what annoyed me was that this article’s author sounds like she doesn’t believe Margaret when she says pit bulls are only bred to be aggressive by mean people (like Michael Vick!) and they are actually really sweet and great pets. IT’S TRUE. Why don’t people believe it? Lee is the awesomest dog ever, and it really will break your heart to go to an animal shelter and see cage after cage of sad, lonely, scared pit bulls that no one wants to adopt.

Anyway, Margaret sounds amazing and just really straight-up and unpretentious, and really really smart, and I totally want to read her book.

(Also: I wonder if the Times has ever published the term “o.g.” in an article before that wasn’t in reference to, like, Snoop Dogg.)
